This chemist position offers exceptional satisfaction through the extensive application and implementation of a wide range of chemical specialties. Daily Responsibilities:

New Product Innovation -

Our Chemists are integral to the development of groundbreaking products that harness cutting-edge technologies while utilizing established knowledge. They are involved in the entire process, from collaborating with sales to identify customer needs to selecting optimal formulations and technologies for success, and partnering with manufacturing to scale the final product.

Technology Specialist -

Our Chemists assess, evaluate, and implement innovative solutions that enhance our ability to deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers. They actively seek and utilize new technologies in the market to boost productivity and reduce costs. Our chemists possess a genuine curiosity to explore new possibilities and are adept at communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence decision-making.

Customer and Product Management:

Our Chemists play a vital role in aligning our customers' needs with our product offerings. They collaborate with sales to gain insights into customer requirements and explore ways to enhance service through improved products, cost reduction, or streamlined offerings across multiple clients. Additionally, our chemists provide technical support to both customers and the sales team, a key aspect of our unique approach to success.

Opportunities for Improvement:

Our Chemists not only ensure effective service to external customers but also seek to enhance internal processes. They drive improvements by collaborating with manufacturing to develop processes that expedite production, optimize formulations, minimize raw material usage, and ensure quality compliance for all batches.

Supervision of Quality Control Personnel:

This role includes the supervision and management of Quality Control Technicians to ensure that our products meet customer specifications and maintain efficient manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include implementing data-driven color correction systems to streamline operations.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the industrial coatings sector
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with essential coatings lab equipment, including but not limited to: Zahn viscosity cups, Stormer viscometer, gloss meter, fineness of grind gauge, and draw down bars.
  • Knowledge in the production of various coatings, including but not limited to:
    • Solvent-based solution acrylic sealers
    • Two-component water-based and solvent-based acrylic urethanes
    • Two-component water-based and 100% solid epoxies
    • Two-component polyaspartic and urethane systems
    • Acrylic emulsions
    • Polyurethane dispersions
    • Silane and silicone
    • Alkyds
