Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a key member of the Oroville Hospital team, responsible for operating nuclear medicine equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies under the supervision of a radiologist. This is a part-time position, requiring a variable schedule with a minimum of 56 hours per two-week pay period.
Responsibilities- Adjusts nuclear medicine equipment to ensure accurate settings for each examination, positions patients, and determines the correct isotope dosage and image time.
- Arranges and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain precise positions and minimize patient discomfort.
- Selects and prepares film for processing.
- Positions x-ray equipment for clear and undistorted views, adjusts collimators, and repeats images as prescribed by physicians.
- Places exposed film and patient identification slips into a safe for processing.
- Administers isotopes to patients, following age-specific requirements, to visualize internal organs in images.
- Develops film using automatic processing and prepares records and files as directed.
- Cleans and maintains equipment, and performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
- Current California Nuclear Medicine Technology license.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Ability to meet requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
