Position Overview:
As a Physical Therapist, you will provide therapeutic services to individuals facing impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or alterations in physical function and health status due to various causes, under occasional supervision.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluates comprehensive data from formal and informal assessments relevant to patient care and management to establish a rehabilitation treatment diagnosis.
- Collaborates with relevant parties to develop the care plan, coordinates and executes care delivery while anticipating patient needs throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Implements suitable, evidence-based interventions to ensure effective outcomes and regularly reassesses patient progress towards established goals.
- Utilizes strategies to facilitate a successful transition back to home, community, and vocational environments.
- The responsibilities outlined are a general overview of the position, and additional tasks may be assigned.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Treatment Planning & Goal Setting (Novice): Demonstrates adequate skill in formulating a care plan that integrates treatment interventions aimed at achieving specific objectives. Develops and documents patient-centered short and long-term goals that are functional and measurable. Identifies the necessity for and refers to additional services as required.
- Patient Evaluation by Rehabilitation Therapist (Novice): Shows proficiency in assessing patients with physical deficits, including impairments and functional limitations, by gathering pertinent information and administering standardized tests. Selects appropriate measures and conducts functional assessments to document the patient's status requiring skilled therapy. Interprets assessment results and their implications for the patient, family, and healthcare team.
- Treatment Implementation (Novice): Exhibits proficiency in delivering treatment in accordance with physician directives and the established care plan. Capable of modifying the treatment plan as necessary to ensure the provision of skilled therapy services, including treatment progression and revision of interventions for unmet goals. May supervise certified athletic trainers, physical therapist assistants, technicians, and students. Adheres to correct protocols for care and employs evidence-based treatments.
- Patient Documentation by Rehab Therapist (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in documentation practices. Utilizes appropriate templates and approved abbreviations within patient records. Meets institutional standards for quality and timeliness of documentation.
- Patient Education by Physical/Occupational Therapist (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in conveying the functional implications of assessment findings, treatment interventions, and disease processes. Considers the communication needs of the audience and may provide relevant information and literature. May supervise and educate students from professional programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and athletic training.
