Responsibilities of the Licensed Respiratory Care Specialist
- Establish and manage various types of respiratory care equipment for resident assessment and treatment.
- Conduct patient evaluations and formulate a comprehensive care strategy.
- Adjust therapy plans to enhance the effectiveness of treatment regimens.
- Review patient records, including medical history, laboratory results, imaging studies, progress notes, and respiratory and cardiovascular monitoring data.
- Document and maintain accurate records of respiratory therapy interventions.
- Administer and adjust various respiratory therapy techniques.
- Evaluate residents' overall condition and progress.
- Provide education to residents and/or family members on medication management and equipment usage.
- Assist in respiratory therapy procedures under the supervision of a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Perform any duties and responsibilities within the scope of practice for a Licensed Respiratory Care Specialist.
- Current and valid NYS license.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC.
