Core Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound machinery and generate diagnostic images of the body.
  • Communicate procedures to patients and ensure their safety and comfort during examinations.
  • Position patients appropriately on examination tables.
  • Adjust imaging equipment settings to meet examination specifications.
  • Implement safety protocols to comply with regulations and protect patients and staff.
  • Assess and interpret developed images to confirm their adequacy for diagnostic use.
  • Prepare examination rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
  • Document and maintain patient records and treatment data, preparing reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with clerical staff and other technologists, consulting with clinical personnel.
  • Train staff on new equipment, procedures, and techniques, providing technical support.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on imaging equipment.

Qualifications:

Education and Training:
  • Associate degree in ultrasonography is required.
  • ARDMS certification in Ultrasonography is mandatory.
  • Previous experience as an Ultrasound Technician in a clinical setting is preferred.
Experience:
  • Prior experience with ultrasound equipment and EPIC electronic health records (EHR) is preferred.
Equipment Utilized:
  • Cell phone, computer, iPad, printer, multi-line telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, and all Microsoft Office applications.
Work Environment:
  • Clinical office environment, requiring mobility within the office and to other locations. Ability to lift objects up to 25lbs and occasionally 50lbs. Communicate effectively with others and analyze information for decision-making. Proficient in data entry using computer systems.
