Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Plumber to join our team at Killeen Independent School District. Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems
• Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations
• Inspect structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe
• Locate and mark position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors
• Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
• Cut and thread pipe, bend pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand
• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, copper, and lead; and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic
• Join pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints
• Fill pipe system with water or air and read pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners
• Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains
• Weld holding fixtures to steel structural members
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Lead Plumber or MEP Specialist

Requirements:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of five years experience in the plumbing trade
• Possess current journeyman's or master's license and current driver's license
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to read and understand plumbing diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
• Physical demands include regular standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, talking, hearing, and tasting or smelling
