Public Health Emergency Preparedness Specialist

City of Waco is seeking a dedicated and proactive Public Health Planner to join our Public Health Department. This position plays a vital role in enhancing our community's preparedness for public health emergencies and ensuring the effective coordination of response efforts.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the development and maintenance of Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) plans for coordinated responses to public health emergencies.
- Manage inventory for emergency equipment, conduct training programs, and collaborate with community partners and regional agencies.
- Research technical issues, coordinate and present training and public education programs, and collect, compile, and maintain data on PHEP operations and grant program activities.
- Operate a vehicle to transport and deploy/demobilize response equipment and resources to various field sites during an emergency.
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Business or Public Administration, Emergency Management, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in public health programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure (if BSN, professional registration as Registered Nurse by the Texas Board of Nursing is required).
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
