Role Summary:

As a Project Manager, you will be instrumental in the successful execution of various construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Reporting to the Manager of Construction Delivery, you will receive assignments from senior leadership and have the autonomy to prioritize your work effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills for client engagement, team leadership, and collaboration with external agencies.
  • Monitor project budgets and timelines using project management software, identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.
  • Work with procurement teams for bid management, contract negotiations, and project modifications.
  • Collaborate with senior management on project prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Analyze previous project outcomes to drive continuous improvement and share expertise within the department.
  • Engage with a variety of stakeholders, including faculty, students, and local authorities, to ensure project alignment with institutional goals.
  • Provide analytical support and project solutions while educating clients on processes and expectations.
  • Oversee planning, design, and construction phases, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with standards.
  • Maintain regular communication with departmental clients regarding project status and priorities.
  • Coordinate with planning and design teams, external consultants, and contractors to achieve project objectives.
  • Facilitate scope definition, resolve design challenges, and negotiate project-related issues.
  • Ensure the completion of final construction documents and manage transitions to project occupancy.
  • Supervise project staff, manage documentation, and ensure financial targets are met through careful budget management.
  • Utilize scheduling tools to manage timelines, review change orders, and prepare comprehensive project reports.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and assist in contractor bidding processes.
  • Evaluate contractor payment requests for accuracy and approve payments accordingly.
  • Prepare contracts and support preconstruction activities, including negotiation of changes and claims.
  • Contribute to project prioritization and efficiency improvements within the department.
  • Resolve project-related issues, conduct inspections, and serve as a resource for colleagues.
  • Participate in relevant committees and uphold environmentally sustainable practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of project management experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proven capability to collaborate with diverse teams across various organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 7 years of project management experience.
  • Experience in managing project schedules and budgets from initiation to completion.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with higher education renovation and construction projects is preferred.
  • Professional registration in architecture or engineering, along with certifications such as PMP or LEED, is desirable.

Salary Range:

$98K - $103K
