Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position reflects a nationwide market range and encompasses a wide array of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be influenced by various factors, including the complexity and location of the role, as well as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. Additionally, employees are eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

Salary Range
$61,000 - $101,600.00

Position Overview

This role involves inspecting, estimating, negotiating, and evaluating both first and third-party auto physical damage claims under direct supervision. The claims will primarily involve basic to moderate physical damage coverages, including collision, comprehensive, and property damage related to vehicles, as well as claims involving fire, theft, flood, and diminished value. The resolution and settlement of these claims will be handled by the Auto Claim Professional, while this position will act as a technical resource for the auto claims team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent service quality throughout the claims process, ensuring prompt communication and follow-through to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Manage work assignments effectively and travel to the location of the vehicle or equipment as needed.
  • Utilize technical expertise to scope claims and accurately determine their physical value using company-recognized resources and estimating software.
  • Establish the physical damage claim value for assigned losses and prepare accurate damage appraisals according to regulatory and corporate guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the assigned Claim Professional throughout the claims process to ensure appropriate resolution and recovery.
  • Negotiate claims with customers and repair facilities to reach agreements on values and required payments.
  • Determine settlement amounts for applicable total loss claims, including coverages and deductibles.
  • Initiate payments to customers and repair facilities as necessary.
  • Assist various lines of business with inspection needs, including catastrophe response.
  • Track savings and referrals while managing work assignments effectively.
  • Review coverage and apply policy conditions relevant to first-party auto damage claims.
  • Conduct damage management when appropriate, overseeing the repair process.
  • Maintain timely and appropriate claim and expense reserves.
  • Develop and update action plans to manage the vehicle repair process efficiently.
  • Communicate damage assessments following negotiations with repair facilities.
  • Obtain authorization for payments to customers and repair facilities.
  • Acquire and maintain necessary insurance licenses as required by state and company regulations.
  • Participate in the Catastrophe Response Program, which may involve deployment for extended periods.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or Technical School degree; state appraiser and claim handling licenses.
  • Preferred: Two years of auto appraisal experience, ideally with an insurance carrier.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auto repair and terminology.
  • Familiarity with claims appraisal systems and proficiency in Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to participate in catastrophe response with minimal notice.
  • Strong mathematical and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of jurisdictional laws and regulations related to claims.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
Essential Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of auto appraisal experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
