Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing turf maintenance, landscape services, irrigation systems, and horticulture tasks for the City of Lawrence's parks and public landscape areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating power mowers and other landscape equipment, performing general labor tasks such as trash pickup, weeding, flower, shrub, and tree care, and mulching landscaped areas. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for watering plants, lifting hoses, and standing for long periods. Knowledge of plant materials is desired.

Responsibilities:

• Provide turf maintenance services for City of Lawrence parks and public landscape areas
• Operate power mowers and other landscape equipment
• Perform general labor tasks such as trash pickup, weeding, flower, shrub, and tree care, and mulching landscaped areas
• Water plants, lift hoses, and stand for long periods
• Maintain knowledge of plant materials

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must pass a background check

Working Conditions:

This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions. The successful candidate will be required to stand for long periods, lift hoses, and operate power mowers and other landscape equipment.
