Respiratory Care Specialist

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner with Cone Health, you will play a vital role in assessing patients with respiratory disorders, conducting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans to alleviate their symptoms.
We are seeking an experienced and certified RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) to join our team. In this role, you will operate medical devices, monitor patient responses, and provide emergency care when needed.
You will work closely with healthcare teams to manage respiratory conditions, improve lung function, and enhance patient well-being. Your ability to educate patients about respiratory health and disease prevention will be invaluable to us.
Responsibilities- Plan and administer medically prescribed respiratory therapy to restore patients' pulmonary function and alleviate pain.
- Conduct pulmonary function tests, assess and interpret evaluations and test results, and determine respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
- Administer inhalants, operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators to help patients accomplish their treatment plan.
- Evaluate the effects of respiratory therapy treatment plans by observing, noting, and evaluating patients' progress and recommending adjustments and modifications.
- Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare workers, contributing to patient care conferences.
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plans following discharge by designing home exercise programs and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
- EDUCATION: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of accredited RT program, licensed by NC Board of Respiratory Care
- EXPERIENCE: Required: 3 years of experience working in acute clinical care, or completion of equivalent acute care clinical rotations
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Required: Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care as an RRT
- Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a CRT or RRT; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
