Position Overview
The Plumbing Superintendent is responsible for directing and managing all plumbing installation and maintenance activities on significant commercial projects. The successful candidate will possess a solid history of achievements in non-union settings, ideally with experience in organizations similar to TD Industries or Comfort Systems. A stable employment background and local residency are essential, along with a progression from practical plumbing roles to supervisory positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all stages of plumbing projects, from initial planning through installation to final inspections.
- Lead, coach, and oversee a team of plumbers and foremen to guarantee superior workmanship and compliance with project schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure effective project delivery.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to guide the team effectively.
- Track project progress, manage resources, and address any challenges that may arise to maintain project timelines.
- Conduct regular site evaluations to ensure quality assurance and compliance with project specifications.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of plumbing experience, with a minimum of three years in a supervisory capacity such as foreman or superintendent.
- Significant experience in non-union environments, preferably with companies akin to TD Industries or Comfort Systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, regulations, and standards.
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints and project documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Local residency with a consistent and verifiable employment history.
