Job Title: Infrastructure Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Architect to join our team at HMSA. As an Infrastructure Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading HMSA's desktop and end-user infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, maintain, and upgrade HMSA's endpoint and client software to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computers and related peripherals, software, and network connectivity to ensure seamless user experience.
  • Develop procedures for user access to endpoints and client software to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Implement, maintain, and operate endpoint and network monitoring tools to identify potential issues and optimize system performance.
  • Optimize end-user computing infrastructure to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Install systems patches in support of vulnerability management practices and product maintenance to ensure system security.
  • Maintain the physical security of endpoint infrastructure to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Develop backup and recovery procedures for endpoint devices to ensure business continuity.
  • Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software for the end-user computing environment to stay ahead of technology advancements.
  • Assist in the setup and conduct of audio/video conferencing activities to facilitate communication among teams.
  • Contribute to architectural decision-making to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
Technical Expertise:
  • Provide technical expertise across business functions to understand the relationship between the business and the Information Systems Department.
  • Explain infrastructure capabilities to stakeholders to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Consult with other Information Systems Department teams regarding infrastructure requirements and provide recommendations for both design and implementation of systems integration efforts.
  • Review and make recommendations with respect to IT infrastructure that deviates from established architecture standards.
  • Lead project planning and requirements gathering efforts to ensure successful project execution.
  • Recommend and create action plans for systems development and/or integration to meet business needs.
  • Prioritize and coordinate upgrades and ensure that change management procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Oversee the development of plans for infrastructure repairs and installations to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and plan activities with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators and maintain service levels to ensure that requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Escalate problems as required and inform management as appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex and escalated problems to resolve issues efficiently.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure architecture, preferably in a healthcare organization.
  • Excellent technical skills, including knowledge of endpoint and client software, network infrastructure, and cloud computing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations across the Hawaiian Islands, as needed.
