Job Title: On-Call Psychiatrist

Nexus Family Healing is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated On-Call Psychiatrist to join our team. As a key member of our mental health services, you will provide expert psychiatric care to our clients, ensuring their well-being and recovery.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a part-time On-Call Psychiatrist to work 6-8 hours a week in a hybrid work environment. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emergency psychiatric consultations by phone to Agency staff, remaining calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Assist nurses in evaluating clients in crisis situations and provide verbal orders for medication administration, restraint, or seclusion as needed.
  • Consult with other physicians, psychiatrists, and nurses regarding follow-up with medical or psychiatric concerns, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans for assigned clients, ensuring their needs are met and their progress is monitored.
  • Conduct regular reviews of clients' medications to determine adequacy of prescription and make adjustments as needed.
  • Authorize and/or refer patients for medical, neurological, or psychological consultation, when indicated, to appropriate resources.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all clinical examinations, including psychiatric examinations and progress notes.
Requirements:
  • M.D. degree and Board-eligible in Child Psychiatry.
  • Valid driver's license required, meeting state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Board-certified in Child Psychiatry.
  • Previous experience supporting youth in a residential setting.
