Job Summary:

As an Ultrasound Technologist at Carle Foundation Hospital, you will play a vital role in performing routine and specialized examinations in Ultrasound. Your primary responsibility will be to adapt procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results, preparing patients for examinations. This position requires independent judgment to adapt procedures to obtain specific diagnostic results under the direction of a radiologist.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform ultrasound procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages.
Exhibit competency in performing ultrasound procedures, including knowledge of catheters, biopsy instruments, and sterile trays, and preparing these items as necessary.
Obtain accurate histories and explain the rationale for the procedure to patients/families, enhancing image quality through the use of appropriate transducers and machine settings.
Evaluate the finished images to ensure diagnostic exams are being submitted to the radiologists, maintaining quality care throughout the procedure.
Assess the abdominal arterial & venous system using color imaging.

Requirements:

Associate's Degree in Ultrasound or a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification within 6 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Working Conditions:

This position may require occasional travel to other facilities. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. The successful candidate will be able to work in a team environment and maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.
