Job Title: Substitute Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Substitute Nurse to join our team at Mason City School District.

Job Summary:

The Substitute Nurse will provide health care management, health education, and home, school, and community mediation services to students, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities:
  • Follows the policies and procedures of the school health care program.
  • Performs the duties of the school nurse, including health assessment activities.
  • Establishes and maintains a healthy school environment.
  • Provides health education, both formal and informal, to students, staff, and parents.
  • Acts as a liaison between home, school, and community, working to assure that students are in school, ready and able to learn to their potential.
  • Connects community health resources to students, families, and staff as needed.
  • Communicates effectively and maintains professional behavior.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
