Job Summary

Meek's Lumber Company is seeking a skilled CDL Driver to join our team. As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for delivering materials to job sites, inspecting and maintaining your truck, and reporting any shortages or claims to your supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a truck with a capacity of over three tons, safely and efficiently
  • Inspect and maintain your truck to ensure it is in good working condition
  • Report any shortages or claims to your supervisor
  • Assist in loading and storing materials
  • Deliver and unload materials to customers' satisfaction
  • Complete daily equipment pre-inspection and record all merchandise returned by truck
  • Follow guidelines established by the Department of Transportation
  • Provide excellent customer service and relay messages sent by customers while on the job
Requirements
  • Minimum education: High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)
  • Minimum experience: 6 months CDL experience preferred
  • Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required
  • Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees, and supervisors
  • Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems
  • Maintains current operator's license and meets company driver qualification requirements
