Job Title: Alarm Monitor

We are seeking a highly skilled Alarm Monitor to join our team at AIP - Akima Infrastructure Protection. As an Alarm Monitor, you will be responsible for monitoring surveillance cameras and equipment, accessing control systems, fire alarms, intrusion detection systems, and other protective equipment/systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and equipment to ensure the security and safety of our facilities.
  • Access control systems, fire alarms, intrusion detection systems, and other protective equipment/systems to respond to emergencies and security breaches.
  • Monitor and log radio transmissions using call signs to stay informed of potential security threats.
  • Answer the telephone and take messages to ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Maintain a Duty Log in a legible manner to record important events and activities.
  • Dispatch and/or notify Security Guards of all unusual activity to ensure a swift response to security incidents.
  • Report and document all incidents, summon resources, and coordinate emergency personnel responding to emergencies.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • All personnel must be able to pass a favorably single scope background investigation (SSBI) prior to commencing work.
  • All Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment medical exam to include drug screening.
  • Be in possession of a valid Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess either a high school diploma or a GED equivalency certificate.
  • Be able to speak English fluently, read and comprehend written English, and compose coherent written reports in English.
  • Be in possession of a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in his/her state of residence.
  • Additionally, applicants for Alarm Monitor must meet the criteria set forth in sub section 1.
Sub Section 1:
  • Shall have a minimum of 1 year experience in basic law enforcement, emergency dispatch, or related field.
  • Shall have the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing, maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Maintain professional communication with local law enforcement agencies and fire departments.
  • Respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner and provide training to other Alarm Monitors to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Utilize criminal justice databases provided by the Government to assist in the vetting of visitors and short-term contractors.
