The Instructor for Accounting will provide instruction for students enrolled in Accounting courses, including dual credit high school students. This individual is responsible for maintaining office hours, teaching extended day classes, labs, and hybrid/online courses, as required. They will also help coordinate and attend advisory committee meetings, attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to upgrade teaching skills, and assist in the development of curriculum, as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Engage students in the learning process through active teaching methods
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior in the workplace
- Stay up-to-date with policies and procedures contained in the TSUS and LIT Policies and Procedures Manual
- Participate in college service, including committee work, advising, and recruiting
- Teach classes during the fall and spring semesters, including online courses
- Provide mentorship to dual credit partners/mentees
- Attend Teaching and Learning Center sessions to enhance teaching skills
- Stay current with national matters and trends in education
- Participate in assessment activities for the LIT Core Curriculum
- Assist in the development of curriculum as needed
- A Master's Degree in Accounting or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of teaching methodologies/pedagogical strategies
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Possess good time management skills
