Surgical Services Nurse Specialist

The Staff Pad is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical Services team in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Our client's healthcare facility requires dedicated professionals who can provide high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
SalaryWe offer an attractive annual salary of $93,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Job DescriptionThis role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. The RN will assist in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of care while adhering to established standards and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition during surgery.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment in compliance with infection control policies.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and anesthesia support as directed by the physician or anesthesiologist.
- Serve as a patient advocate by providing education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain and operate surgical equipment safely and efficiently.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies, standards, and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A graduate degree from an accredited nursing program.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Previous experience in surgical nursing, perioperative care, or critical care preferred.
- New graduates with strong clinical skills and a commitment to learning will also be considered.
- A current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred.
