MedTrans, the dedicated transportation division of Medline, is responsible for the timely delivery of essential medical supplies to both commercial and residential clients. With a fleet of over 1,700 modern vehicles and a network of more than 50 distribution centers across the nation, we ensure efficient shipping to 95% of the United States. We are currently seeking a Shuttle Driver to enhance our operations in Tracy, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a yard tractor to maneuver trailers and containers within designated areas, often characterized by limited space and uneven terrain.
  • Maintain accurate logs in compliance with Federal and State regulations as well as company policies.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
  • Verify the functionality of all safety features on the vehicle and any connected equipment during operation.
  • Refuel the vehicle as necessary to maintain operational readiness.
  • Exhibit clear communication skills for effective radio communication.
  • Perform daily inventory checks of trailers and ensure the yard remains organized.
  • Prepare empty trailers for loading and manage the staging of loaded trailers in designated drop areas.
  • Affix packing lists and seals on trailers as directed by the shipping coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in tractor-trailer or commercial driving is required.
  • Preferred experience includes 2 years as a yard hostler.
  • A valid license to operate the assigned vehicle is mandatory.
  • Candidates must meet all Federal and State requirements for commercial vehicle operation.
  • A clean driving record with no significant violations is essential.
  • Availability to work at least 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, with the potential for overtime as needed.
  • A professional appearance for both the driver and the vehicle is expected.
  • Exceptional driving skills, particularly in backing up trailers, are necessary.

Compensation:

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $35.75. Please note that this range is an estimate and actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, skills, and qualifications.
