Job Summary and Qualifications

Deliver care for patients undergoing Nuclear Medicine procedures.

Perform all tasks directly associated with procedures utilizing radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and some therapeutic purposes in compliance with ALARA standards.

Operate equipment used to measure radiation, generate images, quantify physiological responses, and transmit images and data to the physician for analysis.

Implement practices and techniques to guarantee the safe handling of radioactive materials, particularly when administering radiopharmaceuticals (both orally and intravenously) as prescribed and authorized by the responsible licensed physician.

All employees of North Florida Regional Medical Center will foster a culture of safety, adhere to established policies, and comply with all state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards, and National Patient Safety guidelines.


Qualifications Required:
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
State of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
Registered Radiographer (ARRT) (N), or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB).
