Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at The Colony-City of. As a Firefighter Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing medical care, and working collaboratively with our team to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Work collaboratively with our team to provide emergency medical services, including fire suppression and rescue operations.
- Participate in training sessions and public education programs to stay up-to-date on the latest medical techniques and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working order.
- Testify in court as required and prepare accurate and professional reports and maintain files.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with intermittent exposure to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and intense loud noises.
- Perform physical activity over prolonged periods, including walking, kneeling, stooping, and moving/lifting heavy objects up to 100 pounds.
- Render services as needed to save lives and acquire and use excellent customer service skills when dealing with the public and internal customers.
- Manage risks and perform safely at all times, adhering to the core values of The Colony Fire Department and The Colony Way philosophy.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Paramedic in an emergency medical setting or patient transport capacity.
- Good familiarity with computers and their use.
- Not less than 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Registered or Licensed Paramedic certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services.
- Ability to successfully complete The Colony Fire Department Paramedic mentoring program.
- Obtain and maintain in good standing EMS provider authorization from The Colony Fire Department's Medical Control Physician.
Work in indoor and outdoor environments that are subject to extreme temperatures and inclement weather. May be required to work at a desk and answer telephone. Must be able to work in a team environment and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, other fire departments, and the public.
