We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Receptionist/PBX Operator to join our team at the County of Mason (WA). As a key member of our Central Services team, you will provide exceptional customer service and administrative support to our organization.
- Provide first point of contact for walk-in customers and direct incoming calls to the appropriate county department.
- Serve as receptionist/PBX operator, directing incoming calls and visitors, taking messages, and providing information regarding established procedures, policies, and services.
- Schedule meetings and appointments, and perform a variety of clerical and office tasks, such as typing correspondence, documents, and spreadsheets.
- Maintain conference room schedules, distribute mail, and order supplies.
- Provide technical accounting support for budget and accounting programs, including accounts payable data entry, assembly of vouchers, and record management in Excel.
- Exercise skill and judgment in dealing with the public to solve complaints, answer questions, and provide information.
- Support various programs, including equipment inventory, Motor Pool, Current Use Taxation, Employee Recognition, and Veterans Assistance.
- Screen applications for assistance, issue checks, and manage the imprest checking account.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate a multi-line phone system, standard office equipment, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience in a similar role or industry.
- Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with the public, Board, and County employees.
