About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer at Schnackel Engineers, Inc., you will play a key role in developing mechanical plans and specifications for architectural projects across North America. You will utilize our cutting-edge software platform, AI for MEP, to deliver high-quality results efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with clients and project teams to ensure design consistency and resolve any conflicts that may arise.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls to discuss project progress and address any concerns.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Create detailed mechanical construction document packages using AutoCAD and other software.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork, pipe sizing, and other necessary calculations to support the mechanical design.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and manufacturers to select and specify suitable equipment.
  • Provide construction administration services, including responding to requests for information (RFIs).
Requirements
  • A degree in Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical emphasis or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on HVAC systems from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least three years of experience in mechanical design with an MEP/FP engineering consultant.
  • Proficiency in Building, Mechanical, and Energy Codes.
  • Able to obtain or already possess EI and/or PE credentials in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 based on industry standards and location.
