Maintenance Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team at the City of Corpus Christi. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of structures, painting, flooring, and ceiling systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install and repair various tile floors, walls, and other surfaces in and around buildings composed of vinyl, wood, or ceramic material.
- Locate roof leaks, cause, and extent of damage.
- Install metal gutters.
- Select the work method to be followed for repairs using a variety of roofing materials and accessories.
- Repair or replace sheathing, board, beams, and joints.
- Evaluate damages or inadequate insulation and determine whether to replace all or repair portions of the insulation.
- Install and repair various doors, door frames, door closures, door knobs, door levers, and emergency push doors.
- Install or hang TVs and white erase boards.
- Install, plan, and coordinate suspended ceiling tile applications.
- Remove, build, and repair walls based on customer specifications.
- Paint different types of structures such as wood, sheetrock, and metals.
- Perform basic carpentry skills on various surfaces of interior and exterior components of the building and other structures.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience.
- A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered.
- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.
- Texas Municipal Retirement System.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
