Position Overview:

The mission of the Early Playback Enablement team is to empower media player engineers and quality assurance partners to validate video and audio playback across our player ecosystem. This is achieved by developing and managing test streams, simulating necessary services, and addressing any related challenges. Our focus is on supporting new platforms, enhancing the development of our proprietary media player, and elevating playback quality throughout the company's media landscape. We are looking for a skilled individual to enhance our capabilities in addressing video and audio playback testing scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist partners in meeting playback-specific testing requirements.
  • Identify methods to surface test streams through upstream processes.
  • Document test cases and associated services comprehensively.
  • Develop custom test streams to facilitate partner needs and highlight new media functionalities.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient understanding of HLS streaming protocols and specifications.
  • Familiarity with various video delivery and audio formats.
  • Experience in manipulating HLS Multivariant Playlists for diverse video, audio, and timed text combinations.
  • Ability to manage HLS Media Playlists to enhance the playback experience.
  • Experience in organizing collections of test streams and/or stream catalogs.
  • Solid grasp of software engineering principles.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
