Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing large-scale systems of disruptive capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Department of Defense (DoD) with strategic consulting on research and development (R&D) to deploy technology beyond laboratory settings.
  • Translate real-world needs into technical specifications to deliver an application-focused engineering solution.
  • Support DARPA decision-makers with the strategic evaluation of new concepts and assessments of technological gaps.
  • Work with world-class scientists and engineers to shape national security investment through the development of cutting-edge technologies.
  • Provide recommendations on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs through preparing in-depth analyses, conducting background research, traveling to R&D facilities, and interfacing with the R&D community.
  • Communicate technical findings to a wide audience.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in System Engineering for physical hardware products.
  • 3+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience modeling complicated systems, to include relationships and dependencies of sub-systems and components.
  • Experience managing development of large systems involving diverse technical fields.
  • Experience leading teams of 5+ people.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing or supporting government-sponsored research activities.
  • Knowledge of electrical, thermal, mechanical, optical noise sources and error models.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes and their impact on yield, performance, and reliability.
  • Ability to commute to Arlington, VA.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Doctorate degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154, annualized USD. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
