Job Overview:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering nursing care and assisting in the planning and execution of care strategies aimed at ensuring patient comfort and well-being.

The role of the LPN is fundamentally supportive and directed, necessitating assignment or delegation by a Registered Nurse (RN) and requiring performance under their supervision, orders, or directives.

The LPN engages in the continuous evaluation of patients, as assigned by the RN, aids in the ongoing collection of relevant data, and determines the appropriate individuals to communicate this information to and the timing of such communications.



Key Responsibilities:
Deliver nursing care and assist in the formulation and implementation of care plans to enhance patient comfort and well-being.

Participate in the continuous evaluation of patients as delegated by the RN, support ongoing data collection, and ascertain who to inform and when.


Conduct assessments as directed by the RN, document findings, and report patient responses to treatments and educational efforts as delegated by the RN.

Adjust care priorities based on patient needs, and gather information regarding the patient's biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning requirements.


Encourage shared governance by participating in councils or quality improvement initiatives.

Exemplify the mission, vision, and values of the organization while adhering to the established behavioral standards.

Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nursing program is mandatory.

Certifications:
BLS - AHA

Current LPN License.
