Job Title: Toxicology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Toxicology Specialist to join our team at Wayne State University. As a Toxicology Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on toxicology-related matters to healthcare professionals, patients, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide online and telephone consultation services to healthcare professionals and the public on toxicology-related matters.
  • Evaluate possible poisoning cases and recommend poison treatment information to healthcare professionals and the public.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of toxicology-related topics, including toxic substances, their effects, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, patients, and the public to provide education and support on toxicology-related matters.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest toxicology research and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as toxicology, pharmacology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a toxicology-related field, such as a poison control center or a hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of toxicology-related topics, including toxic substances, their effects, and treatment options.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and the public.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in toxicology, such as the Certified Specialist in Poison Information (CSPI) designation.
  • Experience working in a poison control center or a hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic medical records and other healthcare software systems.
