Charge RN - Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit


As a Charge RN, you will oversee and manage the operations and activities of the unit during your designated shift, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operational practices that promote continuity of care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Resource Management: Maintain authority over resource allocation to meet patient needs effectively.
  • Team Supervision: Assist the Nurse Manager and/or supervisor in managing patient care while supervising the activities of RNs and non-licensed nursing staff.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Competence in utilizing computers for documentation.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand English to follow written and oral instructions and safety protocols.

Required Experience:

Work Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital-based acute care setting.

Licensure/Certification:

  • BLS and PALS certification for licensed nurses working with pediatric patients.
  • NRP certification required for licensed nurses in Specialty Care Areas.
  • Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas.

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing.

This position is full-time and regular, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of pediatric patients.
