As a Charge RN, you will oversee and manage the operations and activities of the unit during your designated shift, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operational practices that promote continuity of care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Resource Management: Maintain authority over resource allocation to meet patient needs effectively.
- Team Supervision: Assist the Nurse Manager and/or supervisor in managing patient care while supervising the activities of RNs and non-licensed nursing staff.
Essential Skills:
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient interpersonal relationship skills.
- Competence in utilizing computers for documentation.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand English to follow written and oral instructions and safety protocols.
Required Experience:
Work Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital-based acute care setting.
Licensure/Certification:
- BLS and PALS certification for licensed nurses working with pediatric patients.
- NRP certification required for licensed nurses in Specialty Care Areas.
- Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing.
This position is full-time and regular, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of pediatric patients.
