Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Security Guard is to ensure a safe and secure environment for all members, guests, and staff. This role involves regular patrols of the premises, conducting security assessments, monitoring surveillance systems, and providing a welcoming presence to all who enter the property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patrols of the property to deter and identify any signs of unauthorized access or security breaches.
  • Monitor the entry and exit of individuals, including employees, guests, and vendors, to safeguard against theft and ensure the security of the premises.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and follow established protocols for incident management.
  • Oversee surveillance systems and alarm monitoring to maintain safety standards.
  • Document and report any irregularities, including property damage, theft, or suspicious activities, through approved communication methods.
  • Maintain a visible security presence to reassure members and guests.
  • Manage access to buildings by issuing and logging keys in accordance with established policies.
  • Execute emergency procedures as outlined in the organization's Emergency Action Plan.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.
  • Escort individuals off the premises when necessary and coordinate with law enforcement in emergencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the security team.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous greetings to members and guests upon entry and exit.
  • Engage with vehicles entering the premises to ascertain their purpose.
  • Assist members and guests with various needs, such as vehicle assistance and parking guidance.
  • Address concerns from members, guests, and staff, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Facilitate check-ins for members and guests at designated entry points.

Work Schedule: Flexibility is required as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays to meet operational needs.

Working Environment

  • Regular exposure to varying weather conditions.

Interaction with Others

  • Frequent engagement with members, guests, and staff to ensure a positive experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong observational skills to detect unusual activities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Integrity and honesty in all interactions.
  • Ability to treat others with respect and kindness.
  • Punctuality and adherence to scheduled shifts.
  • Understanding and compliance with established rules and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with members, guests, and staff professionally.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in using computers for surveillance and reporting purposes.
  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with the layout of the property is advantageous.

Education and Experience

  • Level 2 Unarmed Security Guard Certification is required.
  • Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must maintain certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include the ability to stand, walk, and perform various physical activities for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Independent mobility throughout the property.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking in diverse weather conditions.
