Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Auto Portfolio Management Lead to drive business profitability and deliver superior outcomes for Chubb North America's Commercial Insurance (Middle Market) Auto Line of Business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously monitor the health and performance of the Auto Line of Business, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to drive positive outcomes.
  • Lead the development of advanced low-touch underwriting flows, including determining the optimal underwriting approach and identifying target market segments.
  • Define and establish metrics that effectively measure the success and performance of new business acquisition and renewal policies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements that impact the Auto Line of Business, and provide strategic recommendations to protect underwriting results over time.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and industry professionals to foster collaboration.
  • Analyze claims and pricing study data to uncover loss drivers impacting the Auto portfolio and recommend tactical and strategic changes to drive performance.
  • Partner with Other LOB Teams and Industry Practice Leaders on mix and pricing management, and collaborate with Analytics, Actuarial, Claims, and other corporate teams as appropriate.
  • Define requirements for portfolio monitoring capabilities (data, reports, tools, visualizations).
  • Advance Auto Underwriting by creating and aggregating guided underwriting rules and identifying opportunities to incorporate new data sources and advanced analytics into digitization.
  • Measure results of initiatives/actions vs. expectations and communicate findings across stakeholders to create feedback loops and support a learning culture.
  • Work in an agile environment in collaboration with Portfolio Managers across other Lines of Business to drive consistency and efficiency across lines.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Commercial Auto Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Product Management, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise in portfolio management within the Auto Line of Business for Commercial Insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of pricing and underwriting strategies, with experience in designing approaches that adapt to evolving market dynamics.
  • Proven track record of driving business profitability and delivering superior outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, extract meaningful insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong project management abilities, with a focus on driving results and meeting deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of the commercial insurance industry, including market trends, regulatory frameworks, and emerging technologies.
  • Understanding of commercial underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
  • Detail-oriented and critical thinking skills essential for integrating underwriting strategy, rules, and modeling concepts.
  • Experience or aptitude for insurance pricing models, data analytics, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certifications are preferred.
