The Radiologic Technologist Clinic is a key position within Baylor Scott & White Health, responsible for performing diagnostic and/or fluoroscopic imaging procedures on ambulatory patients in a physician office or clinic setting. This role requires effective communication with patients, ensuring they are relaxed and at ease during the exam, while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a radiologist.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Document pregnancy status of female patients of childbearing age and the shielding precautions taken during the imaging study.
- Ensure operation of radiology equipment by performing quality checks following manufacturer's recommendations and troubleshooting equipment as required.
- Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needed supplies, and expediting orders for supplies.
