Our Surgical Services team operates in a well-equipped environment with multiple operating rooms, performing a wide range of surgical procedures annually.

Our team is composed of skilled RNs, Certified Surgical Technologists, and Anesthesia Technicians, all committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes. Position Summary:


In this role, you will facilitate patient care by assisting the surgical team before, during, and after procedures. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining a sterile environment and providing necessary instruments and supplies to the surgical team in accordance with established protocols.

You will competently perform a variety of surgical cases, demonstrating your ability to handle both routine and complex procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the RN/MD, you will assist in patient care by ensuring a sterile field is maintained and that all necessary instruments are prepared and available. You will adhere to unit standards and processes to deliver age-appropriate care for all patients, demonstrating accountability in meeting patient and family needs.

You will plan, set up, and execute surgical procedures, ensuring the integrity of instruments and equipment. Your role will also involve performing room turnover and terminal cleaning, utilizing supplies efficiently and cost-effectively.


You will apply aseptic principles to maintain a sterile field, recognizing and addressing any contamination issues promptly. Additionally, you will assist in performing counts of sharps, sponges, and instruments, adhering to established policies.


Proper positioning techniques will be essential, as you will ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures. You will follow all policies, procedures, and safety standards, completing required educational assignments annually and participating in quality improvement initiatives as needed.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:


While no specific educational background is mandated, candidates must meet the requirements for certification as stipulated by the relevant authorities.


Minimum Experience:
No prior experience is required for certification.

Licensure Requirements:


Candidates must possess a current and active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
