Position Overview:

The Senior Psychiatric Consultant plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric assessments and advisory services for individuals across various age demographics. This position necessitates a high degree of independence as a subject matter expert and involves leading the clinical team in the absence of the clinical supervisor. The clinician will operate in diverse settings, including telehealth and in-person consultations. Effective collaboration with community resources and healthcare providers is essential to ensure optimal treatment pathways for each patient. In addition to assessments and consultations, this role encompasses the training and oversight of fellow clinicians and hospital personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for the provision of appropriate and minimally restrictive services for patients.
  • Offer guidance, training, and supervision to fellow clinicians and hospital staff.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Uphold compliance with ethical standards and licensure regulations.
  • Promote teamwork and provide constructive feedback to colleagues regarding evidence-based practices.
  • Engage in clinical supervision and contribute to ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Ensure a safe environment and address any safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Design and implement training sessions in specialized areas of expertise.

Required Competencies and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate adaptability, emotional intelligence, and accountability.

Credentials:

  • Must possess a valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker credential.
