Shaw Electric Company Inc. is hiring a low voltage technician with installation expertise.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing cable and devices for low voltage systems, including data, fire alarm, door access, HVAC, and lighting controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of cabling and devices for low voltage systems
  • Laying out low voltage systems efficiently
  • Troubleshooting problems and finding solutions
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with subcontractors and job site supervisors
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety procedures
  • Mentoring apprentices and demonstrating task completion efficiency
  • Assisting with project materials, ordering, receiving, and processing paperwork
  • Responding to emergency situations during and after hours
  • Participating in jobsite meetings and communicating with owners, site managers, inspectors, engineers, and workers in related crafts
  • Continuing education to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and technologies

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years' experience in the electrical field or related field
  • Valid drivers' license
  • NICET, BICSI (or equivalent) certifications preferred
