MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A valid Georgia Educator Certificate in the designated teaching field as mandated by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission

OBJECTIVE

Deliver educational instruction; foster and evaluate student achievement and progress; and effectively manage the learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum, subject matter, pedagogical techniques, and student needs by providing meaningful learning experiences.
  • Implement best practices grounded in current research and facilitate the use of higher-order thinking skills among students.
  • Design lesson plans utilizing state and local curricula and standards, incorporating effective strategies, resources, and data to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Evaluate and utilize student learning data to guide instructional planning.
  • Enhance student learning through research-based instructional strategies relevant to the subject area, engaging students in active learning and promoting essential skills.
  • Employ appropriate instructional technology and a variety of research-based teaching strategies and resources to enrich student learning.
  • Support each student's learning by providing suitable content and developing skills that cater to individual learning differences.
  • Utilize a range of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment methods that are valid and suitable for the content and student demographics to inform instructional adjustments for each learner.
  • Systematically collect, analyze, and apply relevant data to assess student progress; inform instructional content and delivery methods; and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and their guardians.
  • Establish a well-organized, safe, supportive, and orderly environment conducive to learning; promote respect for all; and foster an understanding of student diversity.
  • Set clear expectations for classroom rules, routines, and procedures, enforcing them consistently and appropriately.
  • Implement necessary school safety measures and crisis management plans to maintain a secure and healthy learning environment in accordance with district and school policies.
  • Create a student-centered academic atmosphere where teaching and learning occur at high levels, encouraging students to become self-directed learners.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional ethics and the school's mission; engage in professional development opportunities and contribute to the educational profession.
  • Compile, maintain, and submit all required reports accurately and punctually.
  • Perform duties in compliance with federal and state laws, the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, and established state and local school board policies, regulations, and practices.
  • Maintain valid and appropriate licenses, certificates, and/or credentials as required for this position.
  • Adhere to work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents or guardians, district and school personnel, and other stakeholders in ways that enhance student learning.
  • Collaborate with designated paraprofessionals and other school and district personnel to ensure student progress.
  • Engage in ongoing communication and share instructional goals, expectations, and student progress in a timely and constructive manner, utilizing various communication methods as appropriate.
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities professionally and efficiently.
