About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Assembler to join our team at Powell Industries. As an Electrical Assembler, you will play a critical role in the assembly and installation of electrical equipment and switchgear for the power generation industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and adhere to all safety policies and practices to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform various duties on power control rooms, including bending, running, installing, and terminating electrical conduit
  • Install electrical devices, such as disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, and battery chargers
  • Bend, run, and install conduit (EMT and Rigid)
  • Install wireway and cable tray
  • Pull wire and large cable
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires
  • Install wiring by following standard work/process instructions (NEC Manual)
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience
  • Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Knowledge of air, hand, and power tools
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to read a tape measure
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to bend conduit on a GB Sidewinder style bender (EMT and Rigid)
  • Experience installing cable tray
  • Experience installing wire way
  • Ability to crimp and terminate wires
  • Ability to read drawings or blue prints
  • Working knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components
