Job Overview
Mira Vie at Montville is seeking a highly skilled Nursing Service Manager to oversee the healthcare services provided to residents. This is a full-time position that requires a strong nursing background and leadership skills.
About the Role
The Nursing Service Manager will be responsible for supervising personal care staff, coordinating healthcare services, promoting resident health and wellbeing, and reporting changes in resident condition or health to the Executive Director and resident's responsible party.
Key Responsibilities
- Health Assessments: Perform thorough health assessments on new residents upon admission to the community.
- Resident Monitoring: Monitor the health status of all current residents through regular assessments and care conferences.
- Care Plan Compliance: Monitor resident care plans for staff compliance and take action to improve resident health status as needed.
- Absence Reporting: React immediately to suspected resident abuse, investigate thoroughly, and notify appropriate parties.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise Assisted Living and Memory Care personnel, including hiring, coaching, orientation, scheduling, and training.
- Disciplinary Actions: Perform verbal and written disciplinary actions required of supervised staff and ensure documentation meets company policies.
- Meetings and Audits: Attend daily management meetings, staff meetings, and other meetings as delegated by the Executive Director, including support group meetings, resident council meetings, and attendance at family night gatherings.
- Community Audits: Work with the Executive Director to conduct community audits, review operational systems, and monitor staff compliance with policy and procedure.
- Incident Reporting: Review incident reports, conduct investigations, and report corrective action as required.
- Continuous Quality Improvement: Work with the Executive Director to identify and set priorities to resolve service-related issues, ensure Continuous Quality Improvement activities meet quarterly meeting goals, and document plans to improve quality.
- Workplace Safety: Ensure all employees work in a safe manner and manage unsafe actions, compliant with Safety Committee Standards.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a high school diploma, licensed or registered nurse (RN) licensure, and 2+ years of experience as an LPN or RN, with one year in home health, assisted living, or long-term care preferred.
