We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Frontage Laboratories. As a key member of our Central Lab Services, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
Key Responsibilities- Instrumentation and Method Validation: Validate and verify new instrumentation and methods to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for designated methods to ensure consistency and quality.
- Instrument Maintenance and Quality Control: Perform routine maintenance and quality control on all instrumentation to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, liaise with service engineers and instrument vendors to resolve issues.
- Sample Analysis: Conduct sample analysis, including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, flow cytometry, molecular, and COVID-19 testing as required.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and NYSDOH regulations to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
- Process Improvement: Partner with laboratory leadership to establish and improve processes, efficiency, and employee engagement.
- Education and Experience: Two or more years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a combination of chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and/or molecular experience.
- Certification: ASCP certification or equivalent for Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Laboratory Technician.
- Education: Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology, or Bachelor's degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science, or Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science with relevant coursework.
