Pediatric Cochlear Audiology Specialist

Dartmouth Health is a leading academic/medical facility in Northern New England, providing a range of diagnostic and amplification/management options for all ages. The Audiology Section works closely with Otolaryngology/Otology, performing various behavioral hearing tests and auditory physiologic measures, including sedated and unsedated ABR, OAEs, VNGs, VHITs, VEMPs, and ECOGs. Our aural rehabilitation services include hearing aid dispensing, cochlear implant management, osseointegrated technologies, and hearing assistive technology (HAT). We strive to practice evidence-based audiology and employ best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monday-Friday, 8-hour days
  • Emphasis on pediatric testing and auditory evoked potentials
  • Collaboration with Otolaryngology, Pediatrics, Neurology, and Speech Pathology for complex cases and referrals
  • Participation in teaching and research projects, as well as program development
  • Academic appointment with Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

Leadership Role:

  • Supervision of pediatric audiologists and support staff
  • Collaboration with management for direction and scope of audiological practice
  • Development of innovative clinical procedures for Audiology
  • Plan and implement continuing education programs on the local, regional, and national levels
  • Participation in cutting-edge clinical and basic science research with Otolaryngology and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Audiology with 4 years of direct experience in cochlear implant clinical care and pediatric clinical care
  • Proven leadership skills desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Required Licensure/Certifications:

  • Certification by either ASHA or ABA (six-year or with eligibility for certification by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association required)
