Animal Care Technician to enhance our team.
Our facility is a comprehensive animal healthcare provider, delivering a wide range of wellness, medical, and surgical services. Candidates should possess a minimum of one year of experience in a veterinary setting; licensure is preferred but not mandatory.
Work Environment:
Our clinic operates with a focus on collaborative care.
Compensation Package:
Hourly wage ranges from $18 to $22, commensurate with experience.
Clinic Operating Hours:
Monday to Friday: 7 AM - 6 PM
Saturday: 8 AM - 12 PM
Sunday: Closed

Job Responsibilities:
This role involves providing leadership and training to the medical support team in a small animal care facility, adhering to established hospital policies and procedures while delivering medical assistance to patients as permitted by veterinary regulations. The Animal Care Technician will effectively communicate with both staff and clients, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold the core values and mission of our organization.
- Guide support staff to ensure smooth operational flow during shifts.
- Contribute to performance evaluations for team members.
- Administer patient care under the supervision of a veterinarian.
- Maintain excellent communication with clients.
- Accurately document all relevant medical and client information in patient records.
- Review medical records and discharge instructions with clients.
- Address basic animal care inquiries and direct complex questions to veterinarians as needed.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in the veterinary field is required.
- Proficiency in various skills, including laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and manage a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to remain calm and effective during medical emergencies.
- Experience in administering SQ, IM, and IV injections.
- Knowledge of common prescription medications, including usage, dosage, and potential side effects, with the ability to explain these to clients.
