Job Summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Technologist to join our team in the Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (VIR). As a Medical Imaging Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients requiring a wide range of procedural services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the VIR team to create diagnostic images and engage in hands-on participation as a procedural assistant.
  • Develop relationships with staff and patients to provide a safe and positive experience.
  • Practice and enforce radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health code part 16.
  • Support teaching and continued learning for yourself and others as technology evolves.
  • Participate in full-time day shifts and on-call responsibilities.
Qualification Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved School for the modality of hire.
  • Registration/registry eligible in modality hired and licensed by the state of New York if required.
  • CPR certification.
  • Modality - Vascular Imaging.
  • Organization - ARRT.
  • Registration - R.T.(R), (VI) or working towards.
  • License - New York State.
Education and Experience
  • Must be a graduate of an approved professional academic imaging program.
  • Must hold an Associate or Applied Science Degree (AS or AAS), or Diploma, in X-ray.
  • Must hold current New York State registration or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York and be registered by the ARRT.
  • Previous experience is helpful, but not required.
Work Environment

This role may require access to sensitive information, including HIPAA Protected Health Information. Workforce members are expected to ensure that access to information is based on a 'need to know' and is the minimum necessary to properly perform assigned duties.
