Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Insights Specialist to join our team at Strategic Data Systems. As a key member of our business intelligence and data warehouse team, you will be responsible for providing data analysis, data design, systems development, training, and customer support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data tables and structures, as well as data acquisition and system specifications.
  • Develop data interface specifications, online query and report specifications, database load specifications, and data validation specifications.
  • Provide customer support, including troubleshooting, product review and analysis, and problem resolution.
Requirements
  • Ability to apply analytical skills relating to database management and development.
  • Knowledge of relational database management systems and data warehousing.
  • Experience using Cognos Tool Suite to create reports and dashboards.
  • Skill in writing and analyzing structured query language (SQL) queries.
  • Experience and knowledge in mathematical reasoning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing for required customer support and requirements gathering and validation.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools and evaluation techniques.
  • Knowledge of government accounting (highly desired: DOD Accounting).
  • High School Diploma and six (6) or more years of experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
Security Clearance Requirements
  • Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
  • US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
