Key Responsibilities:
This role is designed for a licensed registered nurse dedicated to delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients with bleeding disorders, considering their needs throughout their lifespan.
Essential Duties:
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients with bleeding disorders across all age groups.
- Execute phlebotomy and administer medications related to bleeding disorders.
- Engage with the ATHN database and participate in research initiatives.
- Assist in potential clinical trials for patients with bleeding disorders.
- Ensure timely follow-up for patients post-procedures or bleeding incidents.
- Communicate effectively with agencies and hospitals serving bleeding disorder patients.
- Support the 340B program by providing essential information for oversight and management.
- Lead nursing quality improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health record systems.
- Collaborate closely with the Bleeding Disorders Foundation.
- Provide educational outreach and training in the community (schools, workplaces) as needed.
- Engage in summer camp programs for youth with bleeding disorders.
- Participate in professional development opportunities annually.
Core Competencies:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn about the HTC 340B program.
- Excellent organizational skills, including planning and evaluation.
- Able to follow directions and work independently.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Registered Nurse credential from the Kentucky Board of Nursing prior to employment.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Associate Degree from an accredited nursing program.
Ability to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation.
