Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care in the Pediatric Emergency Room, work closely with the Chair of Emergency Medicine and Vice Chair, Operations, and be an integral part of the University Health Pediatric population.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill and injured children in an emergency department setting
- Teach and mentor fellows, residents, medical students, and staff
- Oversee the Pediatric Emergency Medicine section and its administrative initiatives
- Participate in departmental and hospital committees
- Support the Emergency Medicine residency program and medical student rotations
- Attend monthly Emergency Department physician meetings and present pediatric operations reports as needed
- Contribute to Departmental and Hospital Process Improvements and Quality Improvement efforts
- Maintain professional affiliations and involvement at national, state, and local organizations
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
- Licensed for practice of medicine in the state of Texas
