THE DIVISION

We manage a diverse system of state parks that collectively cover over 75,000 acres, featuring a multitude of facilities and resources for public enjoyment.
THE PARK
Clinch River State Park, a recent addition to our park system, is designed to be a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts. This park features a unique blue-way concept, connecting various access points along the Clinch River, allowing visitors to engage in activities such as canoeing, kayaking, and hiking while learning about the area's ecological significance.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Park Ranger specializing in maintenance, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations to ensure that facilities and grounds are safe and up to standard. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on grounds and facilities, utilizing various tools and equipment.
- Managing and training maintenance staff and volunteers effectively.
- Providing excellent customer service to a diverse range of visitors.
- Communicating effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Handling duties related to fee collection and visitor assistance.
- Demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to direct and train others.
- Experience in customer service within public environments.
- Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
- Experience in grounds maintenance activities such as landscaping and snow removal.
- Basic skills in construction and maintenance trades, including carpentry and plumbing.
Additional Considerations
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
- Experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of herbicide application and resource management.
- Experience in maintaining trails and ensuring site safety.
