Job Title: Unit SecretaryNorth York General Hospital is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Secretary to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As a Unit Secretary, you will provide administrative support to the clinical team, ensuring the smooth operation of the unit.
- Provide administrative support to the clinical team, including answering phones, responding to emails, and preparing documents.
- Manage patient records, including updating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as laboratory and radiology, to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments and procedures.
- Perform other administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Grade XII diploma
- Medical office assistant certificate or minimum one year comparable office experience with medical orientation
- 1 year working in a neonatal intensive care setting and/or pediatric setting in an acute care community hospital
- Accurate minimum typing speed of 45 w.p.m.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience dealing with the public in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset
