Job Summary

KA Recruiting Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Histology Supervisor to lead our laboratory team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the histology department, ensuring high-quality results, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Directly supervise and coordinate the histology team, including performing routine duties of histology, such as embedding, microtome, specials stains, and related tasks.
    • Manage the employee hiring process, including interviewing prospective employees, developing performance expectations, identifying essential functions, and knowledge, skills, and abilities.
    • Manage employee performance and new employee orientation process.
  • Lab Operations and Quality Control
    • Monitor and evaluate lab operations, workflow, and employees.
    • Maintain quality control records on all equipment.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Properly embed, section, and stain all types of tissue.

Requirements

  • Education
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Certifications and Experience
    • ASCP (HT) certification preferred.
    • At least 5 years of Histotech experience.
    • Some supervisory experience.
